Abschnitt Fokus Irland I: Féiniúlacht / Identity
Synopse
Young Irish filmmakers, in this focus programme, highlight the many ways in which an individual’s identity plays into our day-to-day lives, from gender and sexual expression to how we live together in a society. While Earth continues to spin, we must look into ourselves and explore our innermost thoughts to live as freely as we can. Our individual sense of identity is made up of countless factors and each of them have an immeasurable impact on how we view the world. Film, as an art form, has the incredible power of being able to give us a brief glimpse into how the artists behind that work view the world and that is what makes this medium so special. The following films each take us on journeys both external and internal and reveal to us the filmmakers’ world, even if only for minutes at a time. This programme is entirely made up of films by aspiring young student filmmakers. A special thank you to Dublin International Film Festival and this very festival for the collaboration and bringing these Irish films to Switzerland.
